Package Promises Web-Based 3-D Visual Collaboration

Technical and non-technical personnel can now share large, 3-D models in real-time across the entire design chain with Envision3D from Adaptive Media Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif. Web-based, Envision3D is a networked 3-D streaming solution enabling users working from a minimally configured PC to navigate through large, complex models over corporate intranets or extranets using a standard Web browser. The system is capable of linking 3-D complex geometry with multiple data types and formats, including audio, video, hyperlinked documents, graphics, and text. The product also supports real-time markup and annotations so that design problems can be noted.
