SCM Solution Delivers Rail-Car Management

With a new rail-car management engine, mySAP SCM ties real-time tracking of rail-borne inventory and equipment to internal planning and execution systems so companies that rely on rail-car shipping -- such as chemicals and consumer products players -- can dynamically configure use of rail equipment and inventory. Allowing scans for adverse conditions and route information, the rail-car management engine alerts transportation management systems to changes in conditions, making adjustments from the latest data. The customer freight invoicing engine lets companies simultaneously manage buying and selling tariffs with consideration to competitive freight discounts, equalization and out-of-territory moves.
