Survey: Telecommuting Top Priority For Job Seekers

Compiled By Traci Purdum Telecommuting is a top priority for a majority of job seekers, according to a recent survey by TrueCareers, an online professional job board. The survey, which queried more than 200 job seekers during July 2003, found that 84% of respondents felt the ability to work from home a few days a week or full time is important when looking for a new job. Additionally, 80% of respondents believed that telecommuting would make them more productive at their current jobs; 43% said it would offer more flexible work hours; 24% said it would allow for more time with their families and 19% said it would save them time and money. "It is clear that the ability to work from home is a practice that employers should continue when trying to retain employees, attract new employees and increase productivity," says Jan DeFalco, vice president of marketing, TrueCareers.
