Will supply embedded computers for automated fare collection systems in undisclosed European system.

Eurotech, a developer and provider of embedded technologies, landed a $10 million contract to supply embedded computers to Cubic Transportation for use in the smart card ticketing system of a large European capital that has yet to be named publicly.

The contract calls for over 20,000 units to be installed in bus and subway station gates throughout the transportation system. Each computer unit will relay information from a smart card reader, detailing the passenger and journey information, into the fare collection system.

The is marks the second multi-million contract Eurotech has landed in the transportation sector. In March, the company signed a contract valued at $7.5 million to establish a wireless communication network through the busing system in King County, Wash.
