The loss of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge was a tragedy on many levels—the most obvious being the six construction workers who died when the span collapsed. It will likely take months to digest the economic and logistics impacts and shipping companies try to shift goods to other East Coast ports, as cleanup along the Patasco River continues and as dock workers in Maryland adjust to the massive port closure.
New snarls of an already stressed supply chain will have long- and short-term impacts for manufacturers and other businesses across the United States. Discussing those challenges are several editors for IndustryWeek parent company Endeavor Business Media. This podcast episode is the audio recording of a livestream conversation held April 4, 2024, about a week after the bridge collapse.
Speakers are:
- Ryan Curtiss, digital editor of Roads & Bridges.
