New College Programs to Fill Skills Gap in Manufacturing (slideshow)

Dec. 20, 2022
Universities, colleges and companies are joining together to create programs that directly address current skills needed.

If there is one statistic that manufacturers know by heart it’s the fact that by 2020 the skills gap could result in 2.1 million unfilled jobs. This figure, released in 2021 from a study done by Deloitte and The Manufacturing Institute, said the cost of this be $1 trillion in 2030.

This study spurred educational institutes to offer programs to close the skills gap. Many colleges and universities partnered with companies to ensure the right curriculum.
