On-Demand Manufacturing Solution will Have Two-Hour Disaster Recovery System

June 18, 2008
New technology enables ERP solution to be quickly restored.

Plexus Systems, provider of Plexus Online on-demand software for the manufacturing enterprise, is aiming for a recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO) goals of two hours. These target goals are made possible by live data streamlining between the company's primary data center in Auburn Hills, Mich. and data center back up in Asheville, N.C.

New technology enables the Plexus Online ERP Solution to be restored within two hours of a disaster with data that is no older than 2 hours. "This approach delivers a level of responsiveness, redundancy and safety for our clients that is virtually impossible for them to match with an internal system deployment," said Mark Symonds, CEO and president of Plexus. "Our clients operate their entire business on our on-demand software. Our priority is that manufacturers using the Plexus Online solution will minimize the time and cost of recovering from service outages and disasters with industry-leading disaster recovery and improved business continuity."

Plexus Online, built on a "Software as a Service" (SaaS) model, provides a number of on demand solutions via a simple Web browser, including ERP functions such as accounting and finance, customer relationship management (CRM) features such as order entry and tracking, manufacturing execution systems (MES) functions such as production scheduling and machine integration and supply chain management (SCM) functions such as supplier quality and traceability.
