Summary

In this roundtable discussion, Miller Welding automation experts share their insights about the path to automation, highlighting real-life success stories, pitfalls to avoid and other valuable takeaways.

Attendees will gain practical guidance on the following topics:

  • Evaluating their shop’s readiness for automation to ensure realistic expectations. When a manufacturer of materials handling equipment didn’t consider upstream processes, part consistency, tooling and workforce capabilities, it resulted in overzealous expectations.
  • Understanding how to start smart with automation, such as conducting preliminary research, leveraging demos and aligning the right solutions. This is imperative and something a trailer manufacturer didn’t fully investigate, resulting in unneeded spent capitol on equipment upgrades.
  • Identifying the right partners, planning for workforce training and adopting a crawl-walk-run approach to ensure a smooth and scalable integration. For a job shop specializing in custom-designed infrastructure, it quickly became clear that its operators did not have the talent and skillset required to adeptly operate an automated cell.

Whether an operation is just beginning to explore automation or is looking to optimize it current setup, participants of this webinar will receive actionable insights to help them minimize risk and maximize impact.
