Dow Chemical Adds More Jobs at its Michigan IT Center

Company says information technology is lifeblood of business success.

The Dow Chemical Co. will create 50 highly skilled information technology jobs in Michigan to its IT Center of Excellence. With locations in Saginaw, Midland and Southfield, the IT Center supports Dows worldwide activities.

"Information technology is the lifeblood of business success at Dow, and the Center of Excellence we're building here in Michigan keeps it flowing," said Dave Kepler, senior vice president and chief information officer. "For that reason, we're looking to fill these positions with Michigan's most talented IT professionals... highly skilled, enthusiastic individuals we want to be part of this exciting team and help to create the next generation of Dow's global information systems."

In late 2007, Dow moved nearly 200 employees and third party-suppliers to a new Information Technology center in Saginaw. The move brought together team members from a various functions, all working on common projects. The company says it hopes that co-locating team members from finance, purchasing, manufacturing, information systems and other areas will allow them to actively work together to make faster, more effective decisions.
