System Software Associates, a leader in enterprise software with its object-oriented BPCS Client/Server system, is offering a new product for industrial companies to manage their network of suppliers. Called Inbound Logistics Management (ILM), the new module tightly integrates customers, manufacturers, and suppliers, tying inventory to both inbound and outbound logistics.
ILM helps companies manage the entire inbound logistics process, including inventory tracking, detail cost accounting, landed costs, and other inventory management functions. The system will support centralized inventories and deliveries as well as worldwide sourcing of raw materials and component parts.
"In todays increasingly competitive world, inbound logistics and cycle times must be aggressively managed if costs are to be kept low and customer service high," says Roger Covey, CEO and chairman of the Chicago-based software firm.
