Lancaster, Pa.-based Herley Industries Inc. has landed a contract in excess of $2 million with the Republic of Korea to provide IFF systems for the KDX Navy Program. The contract is through the company's Stewart Warner Electronics subsidiary. IFF systems are used to transmit, receive, and process wireless microwave communications that can identify an object as a "friend" or "foe." The contract is for both manufacture and installation of the systems on several ships. Herley Industries is a microwave-technology company serving the defense/aerospace, satellite launch, and commercial markets. The company announced six-month earnings of $6 million as of Jan. 30, up from $5.8 million from the same period a year earlier.
