Foxboro's Offers Y2K 'Tune Up' For Legacy Systems

Still confronting a legacy process control system with Y2K problems? The solution doesn't have to be complete system replacement, says Foxboro Co., Foxboro, Mass. As an alternative the company offers a "Year 2000 Tune-Up Kit" that simply replaces the legacy system's core computational elements. That can save 30% to 60% of the cost of a complete system replacement, says Foxboro. In addition President William Ketelhut claims "a number of customers who've already taken advantage of Foxboro's Year 2000 Tune-Up Kit have told us that they've not only achieved Y2K compliance with their legacy systems, they've actually recouped their expenses in one or two months through improved plant performance." Foxboro says it assumes warranty responsibility for the entire system.
