McClenahen Even with continued consolidation, the U.S. aerospace industry added 7,500 jobs during the third quarter of this year, bringing total employment to 587,600, says the Arlington, Va.-based Aerospace Industries Association. The third-quarter increase came on top of an 8,500-job increase in this year's second quarter. The upward trend in employment is expected to continue, says the association. Aerospace employment hit a 50-year low of 568,700 in February 2004.
