Camstar Acquires Supply-Chain Consulting And Services Practice

Compiled ByDave Schafer Camstar Systems Inc., a provider of collaborative-manufacturing execution solutions, has acquired Unifi Technology Group's supply-chain consulting and services practice and formed a new business unit, Camstar Solutions Group. Charlotte, N.C.-based Unifi, a consulting and integration firm, already has experience implementing and integrating InSite, Camstar's collaborative e-manufacturing solution, with other enterprise and supply-chain applications. Camstar, Campbell, Calif., says it expects the acquisition to expand its footprint in collaborative manufacturing and strengthen its ability to offer complete solutions that provide real-time visibility and control across multi-plant manufacturing enterprises. "This acquisition allows us to provide our third-party integrators with best-practices tools, templates, and methodologies developed in Unifi Technology and now offered through Camstar Solutions Group," says Dave Cone, president and CEO, Camstar. "Our independent systems integrators will use these valuable resources to accelerate deployment, increase installation efficiencies, and maximize ROI for more customers." Camstar Solutions Group will operate from the former Unifi Technology offices in Charlotte.
