Australia's Leading Index Rises

The leading index for Australia increased 0.5% in September, the latest month for which data are available, says the Conference Board, a New York-based business research group. Its leading index for Australia now stands at 156.6 (1990=100). For the six-month period through September, the index increased 3% as six of its eight elements rose.
