OTTAWA: Canada's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 7.2% in October, down from 7.5% in September and down from 8.1% in October 1998, Statistics Canada reported Nov. 5. The number of people employed rose 79,500 to 14.816 million during the month, while the number of unemployed fell to 1.148 million and the labor force participation rate rose to 65.5%.
