Compiled ByDeborah Austin Members of the National Grocers Assn. (NGA) who are operating commercial fleets soon will have access to an online procurement solution jointly offered by NGA and transportation/logistics provider AmeriQuest. The service, accessible through the NGA site, should be launched this spring. It is offered to member manufacturers, wholesalers, service suppliers, and retailers -- giving them access to pricing and economies of scale formerly available only to larger fleets, says NGA president/CEO Thomas Zaucha. AmeriQuest Transportation and Logistics Resources, Cherry Hill, N.J. , is a transportation and logistics services firm for the fleet management industry. It also owns knowledge and content portal FleetXchange.com. NGA, in Reston, Va., is the national trade association of the food distribution industry's independent sector.
