Eurotunnel, which operates the train-carrying Channel Tunnel (or chunnel, in popular parlance) between France and Britain, is seeking a U.S. partner to help develop its telecommunications business. So far, however, it's not talking about who the potential partners are. Still, Alain Bertrand, managing director of Eurotunnel's telecoms operations, says it is hoped that spare capacity available on a fiber-optic network Eurotunnel uses for operational equipment will attract U.S. companies that do not yet have their own European activities.
