Report Follows Growing Printer Market

Global data on all leading printer vendors -- market share, shipments, and end-user revenue data as well as types of printers -- is available on a quarterly basis in a new program from Dataquest Inc., a unit of information technology services firm GartnerGroup Inc. The Printer Quarterly Statistics Worldwide program provides a unified, integrated view of the printer market, segmented by six major global regions: the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, Japan, and Asia/Pacific. It is designed to help printer manufacturers, component suppliers, and PC vendors chart the growth of technologies and answer tactical questions about their competitors. The printer market is forecast to exceed 80 million units by 2002, says Bob Fennell, director and principal analyst for the program.
