Across the country today, artists and artisans, designers and engineers, students and masters are coming together in the name of innovation.
By official presidential decree, today has been dubbed the National Day of Making – a day designated by President Obama to celebrate what he calls the "path of discovery, experimentation, and innovation that has been the hallmark not only of human progress, but also of our Nation's progress."
To this end, Obama is currently hosting the first-ever White House Maker Faire, and is inviting every maker – "from students learning STEM skills to entrepreneurs launching new businesses to innovators powering the renaissance in American manufacturing" – to share their creations, ideas and passion for innovation.
