Solar Panels Top Distribution Facility

Feb. 24, 2011
Jordache moves to make its distribution center more environmentally friendly.

Jordache Enterprises will soon have a solar panel system on the rooftop of its main distribution center in New Jersey. Solar Rainbow Services and Carlisle Energy Services have established a joint-venture to install 400,000 square feel of thin film laminates.

According to the project's engineers, the solar panel installation will be divided into two discrete phases: During the first phase of construction, 1.3 megawatts will be installed, with an additional megawatt scheduled for the second phase.

The installation of the solar modules will generate 1,430 megawatt-hours of clean energy each year. Jordache said construction on the rooftop system will begin in early spring, with a completion date slated for sometime this summer.
