The Kentucky truck plant will receive $80 million for overall plant improvement.

With Ford’s F-Series of truck continuing to sell well, as it has for the past 37 years according to Joe Hinrichs, president of The Americas, the company will invest $80 in the plant that produces that product.

The improvements will be to the overall plant facility including retooling production equipment and systems and upgrading the automation systems for the body shop and painting shop.

The goal of the investments is a 15% increase in capacity by 2014 for producing Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty pickups, as well as Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs.
