Break out the champagne, everybody -- according to a WPP/Millward Brown study, the world has now seen the birth of the first $100 billion brand. And no surprise here -- it's the Google.

Even though the value of all brands -- as well as most if at all companies -- have declined as of late, the value of the top 100 brands has risen by 2%.

The global top-10 most powerful brands (value in US $ billions, last year's ranking shown in parenthesis) are:

1. Google (1) - $100.0
2. Microsoft (3) - $76.3
3. Coca-Cola (3) - $67.6
4. IBM (6) - $66.6
5. McDonald's (8) - $66.5
6. Apple (7) - $63.1
7. China Mobile (5) - $61.3
8. General Electric (2) - $59.8
9. Vodafone (11) - $53.7
10. Marlboro (10) - $49.5
