Ansys has launched the latest release of Simplorer software, used to design mechatronic and other multidomain systems for industries as diverse as automotive, industrial automation and aerospace. A new user interface for Simplorer 8.0 allows engineers to use multiple modeling techniques and modeling languages concurrently and within the same schematic. Dassault Systemes' Simulia brand has announced a new product for engineers who are trying to evaluate the performance of welded joints in such applications as pressure valves, storage tanks and piping. Verity for Abaqus, an add-on product to Abaqus FEA (finite element analysis) software, simulates realistic structural stress in welded joints as well as structures with adhesive joints and mechanically fastened joints.
