Welding Handbook, Volume 3, reflects the dramatic changes brought into welding processes over the past decade due to the emergence of new welding techniques and advanced materials. Included are chapters on resistance spot and seam welding, projection welding, flash and upset welding and high-frequency welding.

In addition to a chapter on friction welding, a new chapter introduces friction stir welding, a process that has users excited about the significant advances it offers. Also covered: recent advances in beam technology, such as laser beam welding and cutting and electron beam welding.

Other processes presented include ultrasonic welding, explosion welding, diffusion welding and brazing, adhesive bonding, thermal and cold spraying and modernized water jet cutting.
