Majority Of Executives Plan RFID Projects For Near Future

Additional RFID projects are slated for 2006, according to a new study by Boston-based AberdeenGroup. While many survey participants have not yet "identified RFID's specific value proposition," 60% of senior management believe they will.

The study titled, "The RFID Benchmark Report: Finding the Technology's Tipping Point," reports that 48% of those surveyed are in fact keeping their RFID projects in a pilot stage as they wait for technology to mature.

"Increased attention to infrastructure middleware and applications and analytics are crucial steps toward increased RFID adoption," says John Fontanella, senior vice president, supply chain and retail research. "Just solving the physical issues alone will not create the RFID tipping point."
