Online sourcing service launches marketplace targeted to textile and apparel industries.

Every industry has certain unique qualities. To cater to the individual needs of the textiles industry, MFG.com has launched an online marketplace developed specifically for that market called MFGtextiles.com. The company's new sourcing service is dedicated to buyers, purchasing professionals and factory manufacturers of apparel, footwear, home and commercial textiles.

The global textile marketplace is estimated at $1 trillion a year, points out Mitch Free, MFG.com's founder and CEO. "Watching the marketplace grow has been phenomenal," says Free. "Over 15,000 textile buyers and factories are currently registered and active in the MFGtextiles.com marketplace."

From samples to million-piece runs, the Web-based solution provides a vehicle for buyers to source for qualified suppliers locally or around the globe. A buyer's design and production requirements are connected with a factory's capability and capacity, helping textile and apparel professionals to bring designs to market more efficiently and cost effectively.

MFGtextiles.com provides both "cut and sew" and raw material textile suppliers with direct access to global buyers that have an immediate need for custom manufacturing services. Factories are able to specify jobs that suit their interests, which then help match their expertise with buyer opportunities. Sourcing managers and merchandisers can request quotes from suppliers online, which are matched to factories with the right expertise and capacity.
