Major Purchases: By The Numbers

Have you postponed or canceled any major purchases due to current state of the economy?

A recent survey of more than 200 purchasing professionals and engineers in manufacturing by MFGWatch found the following:

35% stopped hiring new or replacement employees

15% canceled software or upgrade purchases

15% cut business travel

12% suspended facility expansion

8% did not renew memberships in professional societies or industry associations

11% have not canceled or postponed any purchases
