Companies are committing precious dollars in the search for employees with all areas of talent management benefiting including sourcing and contingent staffing. Spending will see a growth rate of 8.3% from 2005-2009 according to IDC, a Framingham, and Ma.based research company.
"Barely a day goes by without increasing evidence of the new war for talent, the shrinking and maturing workforce and the need to improve employee satisfaction to ensure retention," says Lisa Rowan, program manager for IDC's HR and talent management services. "The evidence is clear that these are top-of-mind issues that are extending beyond the HR department into the highest levels of the organization," she adds.
The study entitled, "Worldwide and U.S. Talent Acquisition and Staffing Services 2005-2009 Forecast," reports that the U.S. was responsible for the largest share of spending with a 10.5% growth in 2004.
