Discrete and process manufacturers using SAP now have a chance to add a new adaptive manufacturing solution through the combined efforts of SAP and Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), a global IT consulting firm. Using the SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP XMII), and a set of TCS' industry specific composite applications, manufacturers can connect the mySAP ERP to the plant floor in real time. This solution has a quick implementation time -- 4-10 weeks per plant.

Industries that might benefit from this new application would be pharmaceuticals, chemicals, utilities and automotive as they face stringent regulatory and/or manufacturing performance challenges that require a higher level of plant floor visibility, according to SAP and TCS.
