Poland's Industrial Output Dips in October

Poland is the only member of EU to have posted growth last year, when its economy expanded by 1.7%.

Industrial production fell 0.6% in October from September, seasonally-adjusted data showed on Nov. 19, and rose by 11.2% compared with the same month in 2009.

The figures released by the national statistics office contrasted with a 0.4% rise in industrial output in September from August to give a year-on-year gain of 12.1%.

Raw, unadjusted data for October showed that output fell 1.6% on a monthly basis and by 8% from September 2009.

Polish industrial output declined 3.2% in 2009.

Poland, which joined the European Union in 2004, is the only member of the 27-nation bloc to have posted growth last year, when its economy expanded by 1.7%.
