Ganesh Jayaram is Chief Information Officer, a position he assumed in May 2022. He has global responsibility for all company information technology activities. In this role, he leads a team focused on creating and executing strategies that deliver advanced digital solutions, improve cycle times, and modernize the information-technology stack to help Deere achieve its smart-industrial goals.
Jayaram joined the company in 2006 as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development. Later, he was named Product Line Director for the cotton business of the Crop Harvesting platform and in 2012, he became Vice President, Ag & Turf Sales and Marketing, China/India/South and East Asia/Sub-Saharan and South Africa.
In 2015, he was named Director, Global IT Business Insights and Enabling Solutions. In this role, he was responsible for providing an increased focus on the implementation of the company’s information management strategy and delivery of key business insights through data analytics.
Prior to his current position, he was appointed Vice President, Information Technology in January 2016. In this role, he helped drive consistency and integration of key portfolio, financial, and enabling processes across the Global IT organization. He also led the implementation of an agile operating model that has transformed the delivery of business outcomes, improved employee engagement, and increased operational efficiency.
Before joining the company, Jayaram was Vice President of Business Development for the Water Quality Group at Danaher Corporation in Loveland, Colorado. From 2001 to 2003, he was Director of Corporate Business Development for Canon, U.S.A. in San Jose, California. From 1995 to 2001, Jayaram worked for The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago and Mumbai.
Jayaram received a bachelor’s of technology in ceramic engineering from the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, in 1990. He received a doctorate in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1995.
