Inventory software provider ToolsGroup says its newest version of inventory optimization software -- DPM 5.0 -- is designed specifically for distribution-intensive businesses such as consumer-goods manufacturers and retailers. Analytics of the solution address supply-chain issues that arise as a result of meeting service level agreements, the Boston-based firm says. Capabilities of DPM 5.0 include:

  • multilevel kitting functionality;
  • optimization according to specific business objectives, such as maximizing residual shelf life; and
  • category management techniques for short product lifecycle industries.
Among companies employing DPM 5.0 is Castrol, which uses the solution for its distribution network of 29 installations in 25 countries, ToolsGroup says.
