Inventory software provider ToolsGroup says its newest version of inventory optimization software -- DPM 5.0 -- is designed specifically for distribution-intensive businesses such as consumer-goods manufacturers and retailers. Analytics of the solution address supply-chain issues that arise as a result of meeting service level agreements, the Boston-based firm says. Capabilities of DPM 5.0 include:
- multilevel kitting functionality;
- optimization according to specific business objectives, such as maximizing residual shelf life; and
- category management techniques for short product lifecycle industries.
