Business travelers can access corporate networks via the Internet without making costly international calls with the Remote Internet Access initiative launched by Concert Communications Services, the existing British Telecom/MCI joint venture. The service offers secure global access to the Internet, Internet-connected LANs, and intranets, at intra-country rates via 800 points of service in 50 countries. An online network management feature allows network managers to change passwords on an "as-needed" basis, while secure user identification and password validation is provided by Concert's managed data network.
