Compiled ByDeborah Austin ChemConnect Inc., San Francisco, which operates the online marketplace World Chemical Exchange, and Envera, Richmond, Va. -- a global e-network serving the chemical and petrochemical industries' business-to-business supply-chain needs -- have merged. The merged entity - also known as ChemConnect -- plans to provide global buying and selling opportunities supported by end-to-end connectivity and collaboration across supply chains, including sales, logistics, and financial services. Together, Envera and ChemConnect have created an online Marketplace Plus that offers a flexible approach to accommodate different stages of adoption. The new ChemConnect says it will continue both firms' commitment to the Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) and development of Chem eStandards, the standards for transfer of XML documents between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, enabling global collaboration among many partners.
