The airline is installing Unisys e-@ction Logistics Solutions, whose Internet-accessible components will enable shippers to track a piece of cargo through its lifecycle, helping Air Canada manage its freight processes more efficiently and analyze areas needing enhancement. Air Canada will make most of its cargo processing functions and data accessible via the Web for remote stations without direct connections to its system. Since acquiring Canadian Airlines last summer and finishing the resulting systems integration, Air Canada has used Unisys outsourcing facilities in Eagan, Minn. for freight management efficiencies and cost savings.
