McClenahen If yours is a typical business, non-profit organization, or government agency, fewer than a quarter of your workers are committed to the organization and likely to be around for another two years, indicates the 2001 National Employee Benchmark Study done by Walker Information Inc., an Indianapolis research group. There are two other disturbing findings. Only 45% of U.S. employees believe that their organization cares abut developing people for long-term careers rather than just for the current job. And only 48% of employees feel encouraged to try new ways of doing their jobs. Some 2,795 full- and part-time employees in 48 states participated in the study, which was conducted between April and June of this year.
