ByJohn S. McClenahen Just over a month passed between the old law expired on Oct. 21 and President George W. Bush signed new legislation on Nov. 28. But the bottom line is that a two-year extension of a 1998 law banning certain Internet taxes is now in effect. The moratorium covers taxes on Internet access, multiple taxation of the 'Net and "discriminatory" taxation. The often-heated debate on Internet taxation, however, is not likely to stop as states, hit hard by the current economic recession in the U.S., seek additional sources of revenue.
