Learn about current procurement strategies and discover the criteria for successful supplier selection by attending "Fundamentals of Purchasing for the New Buyer," a seminar presented by the New York-based American Management Association (AMA). The three-day event will be held Aug. 9-11 at the AMA Executive Conference Center in Chicago. A second August event will be held Aug. 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The seminar will address the buyer's role in managing supply processes; the purchasing cycle and its relationship to the supply chain; electronic purchasing; ethics in purchasing; criteria for measuring a buyer's performance; and negotiating skills.
