Even though 75% of companies surveyed by kforce.com post available jobs on third-party Web sites, and most see the Internet as a vital recruiting tool, there's still frustration with Web recruiting. Two out of three companies surveyed by the Web-based specialty staffing firm say that they are frustrated by the lack of personal touch on Internet job boards. That is, they can't get the nuances gained in a one-on-one interview. "The findings of this survey clearly indicate that recruiters and human resource professionals, while using the Internet to seek applicants, still place tremendous value on face-to-face interactions in the hiring process," says David Dunkel, CEO of kforce.com. Survey participants did credit the Internet with reducing competition between large and small firms for talent and for opening candidate searches globally.
