Compiled ByTraci Purdum DuPont & Co.'s decision to enhance collaboration with its customers and increase efficiencies across its worldwide operations has led the company to global management consultants Accenture. Under a recently announced initiative, Accenture will design and build a global enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) solution for DuPont, to be completed by year-end 2003. DuPont, Wilmington, Del., also will outsource maintenance and support to Accenture for a six-year term. "We were able to craft a solution with Accenture that provided global SAP capability, a blend of fixed price and flexibility, and the lowest possible total cost of ownership," says Bob Ridout, vice president of DuPont Information Systems and chief information officer. Accenture will rely on resources at its delivery centers in India, Spain, and Wilmington, Del., to meet its commitment.
