Compiled ByTraci Purdum Laptop computer users no longer have to struggle with a touch-pad or roller ball thanks to a mini mouse that rivals its larger cousin in controllability and functionality. The MouseMan Traveler, a compact optical mouse designed with the business traveler in mind, was developed by computer-peripheral maker Logitech, Romanel-sur-Morges, Switzerland. The mouse, which is small enough to fit into a notebook-computer case and work on small surfaces such as an airplane tray table, features an optical sensor that provides 800 dots-per-in. resolution. It also has a three-button control wheel that can be programmed to access the Internet via the iTouch software included with the mouse. The MouseMan Traveler uses a USB or PS/2 interface and is compatible with Windows 95 or later, as well as Macintosh 8.6 or later operating systems.
