Foreign investors in Indonesia, Thailand, and South Korea are likely to feel new pressure to hire locally. Hundreds of thousands of people working outside their home countries are losing their jobs as a result of Asia's financial flu and the accompanying economic slowdown, and are returning home. Multinationals are likely to be urged to replace departing expatriate managers with local talent.
