Compiled ByDeborah Austin Envision it as a supply-chain logistics "flight simulator" for managers: Lockwood Greene has launched its Supply Chain Logistics Model, a hands-on interactive workshop/training tool to help companies optimize their supply-chain logistics networks. Available through public workshops, private on-site presentations or as a lease model for internal training, the workshop is designed to give participants a high-level view of the differences between "push" and "pull" logistics systems -- demonstrating interaction between raw material suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, transportation and customers. Targeted at operations executives, supply-chain managers, project managers, transportation logistics managers, and other players, it is being licensed to educational institutions as well. Lockwood Greene -- Spartanburg, S.C. -- serves manufacturing and other industries as a business partner for engineering and construction.
