Aerospace industry executives will address current aircraft manufacturing problems and solutions at the second annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Manufacturing Technology Conference & Exposition in Long Beach, Calif., June 2-4.

The executives include William Gendron, recently retired vice president of McDonnell Douglas Corp.; John J. Grisik, group vice president of integrated systems for BF Goodrich Aerospace; Jim C. Hoover, vice president and general manager for Northrop Grumman Aircraft Division; Gordon A. McKinzie, 777 program manager for United Airlines Inc.; Dr. Robert Todd, professor at Brigham Young University; and Robert J. Torcolini, president of Dynamet Inc.

This executive panel is the first in a series of panels staffed by industry experts and concentrates on different aspects of the aircraft manufacturing industry. Some of the topics will focus on lean manufacturing, manufacturing technology, union management, and manufacturing education. In addition to the panels, eight concurrent sessions will explore various elements of aircraft manufacturing from assembly through variability reduction.
