ByDeborah Austin Siebel Systems Inc. has launched a new product, eChemicals7, providing functionality for chemical companies in customer-touching business processes. The new solution -- drawing components from Siebel's longstanding eEnergy product and providing the functionality of recently released Siebel 7 integrated e-business application -- is specifically designed for the chemicals industry to resolve critical pain points across key business processes including sales, marketing and service. Industry-tailored features include enhanced industry-specific analysis functionality, and improved samples management and asset management capabilities. These include ability for companies to manage both their own and customer-owned assets -- enabling value-added services such as notifying customers when production rates indicate need for maintenance, and tracking of projects associated with company-owned or customer-owned assets. Siebel Systems Inc., San Mateo, Calif., provides e-business applications software.
