At a time when executives are wondering how solid the business basics are in other emerging markets around the world, "The economic and management fundamentals in China are very strong," judges Armand V. Feigenbaum, president, General Systems Co. Inc., Pittsfield, Mass., a quality consulting firm. "What we're being asked to do reflects a high degree of managerial commitment and sophistication (in China)," he says.
