Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd., a leading maker of software to plan, simulate, and optimize processes and production lines, recently released four new industry-specific applications in its Digital Factory family. The new applications, part of the software company's computer-aided production engineering (CAPE) suite, are called Body in White for automotive body shops, Final Assembly solution for complex final assembly, General Assembly solution for high volume manufacturing, and PowerTrain solution designed for makers of drive-train assemblies. Tecnomatix, which has offices in Novi, Mich. and Herzeliya, Israel, includes among its customers Boeing, Caterpillar, Volvo, BMW, Ford Motor, General Motors, Lockheed Martin, and Motorola. "Our product looks at a manufacturing line or plant or enterprise and analyzes it from the point of how smooth it is and the best way to run it," says Gadi Becker, vice president of marketing at Tecnomatix.
