Manufacturers like to see product head out the door and into customers' hands. Sometimes, however, that product comes back -- for repair, upgrades or other reasons. To address the latter phenomenon, CellStar Corp. has introduced a reverse logistics solution aimed at the wireless communications market. The solution is part of CellStar's Omnigistics logistics portfolio. According to the Carrollton, Texas-based wireless logistics services company, the solution's returns management capabilities include: tracking and reporting at every stage of the returns process at the unit level; visibility into third-party providers such as repair providers; automated alerts to queue exceptions; and automated exception handling rules. CellStar selected Yantra Corp. as its major software partner. The Omnigistics reverse logistics platform is expected to be available in mid-April. CellStar announced its launch at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association Wireless Show on March 22.
