B2B e-commerce network provider Global eXchange Services Inc. has agreed to purchase HAHT Commerce, a provider of demand-chain-management applications. Gaithersburg, Md.-based Global eXchange Services says the combination of the two companies brings together complementary solutions for retailers, manufacturers and suppliers to the retail industry. The agreement calls for Global eXchange to acquire all of the capital stock of HAHT Commerce for approximately $30 million in a combination of cash and shares of GXS Holdings, the parent company of Global eXchange Services. The transaction is expected to be completed in February and is subject to approval of HAHT Commerce shareholders. The acquisition of HAHT Commerce will allow Global eXchange Services to expand its offerings by providing businesses with a comprehensive solution for product information management and data synchronization.
